The Health Department is an administrative department of MCGM (Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai) that issues various licenses. In view of this it is necessary for Establishments to take necessary license from Heath department before starting manufacturing of food, storage of food or trade of food any food commodity/food activity. Activities including eating house, Restaurants, Manufacturing drugs, Retail Shop, Medical shops, Manufacturing and/or sale of milk and milk products, Condiments, Aerated water, ice factories, etc. fall under this license category .Health License is compulsory license to get approval from MCGM before starting or establishing business in the area or city under MCGM Department.
